Hearts of Oak are champions of the 2023 President’s Cup after beating Asante Kotoko 1-0 on Sunday afternoon.
The Phobians today hosted the Porcupine Warriors at the Accra Sports Stadium for the Week 20 encounter of the 2022/23 Ghanaian top-flight league season.
The game also served as this year’s President’s Cup played in honour of sitting President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo ahead of tomorrow’s Independence Day Celebration.
Today, the fans came in their numbers as both Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko put up an exciting display in the presence of President Akufo-Addo.
At the end of the Super Clash, the Phobians secured a 1-0 win thanks to a solitary strike from defender Konadu Yiadom in the 57th minute.
The win gives Hearts of Oak three points in the Ghana Premier League and also crowns the team the winner of this year’s President Cup.
