The dates for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 202 African Qualifiers Play-offs draw will be announced after next week’s CAF Executive Committee meeting in Cairo.

The teams will be seeded according to the FIFA Coca-Cola ranking.

The Executive Committee Meeting will be held on 25 November 2021 – on the eve of the Extraordinary CAF General Assembly that will be hosted also in Cairo on Friday, 26 November 2021.

Black Stars will be in pot 2 of the play-off round of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers for Africa.

10 African teams qualified to the final round of qualifiers with five places to fight for.

Cameroon pipped Cote d’Ivoire to qualification; Nigeria and Algeria also secured their spots despite drawing at home to their closest challengers.

Tunisia, meanwhile beat Zambia 3-1 to seal their place in the Tuesday games.

Meanwhile, Senegal, Egypt, Morocco, Mali, DR Congo, and Ghana had already qualified to the last round.

Those five qualification places will be decided by five two-legged play-off matches due to take place in March 2022.

The 10 qualified teams include Andre Ayew’s Ghana, Egypt, Algeria, Cameroon, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ghana, Mali, Morocco, Nigeria, Senegal, and Tunisia.

The best five ranked teams in the FIFA rankings were seeded to pot 1 as the others were left unseeded in pot 2.

Ghana, currently ranked 7th in Africa, missed out on pot 1 alongside Egypt, who are ranked 6th on the continent.

This means Ghana will likely draw one of Algeria, Senegal, Morocco, Nigeria or Tunisia in the final round.
