2022 World Cup: Big concern for Ghana as midfielder Baba Iddrisu picks up injury

Ghana international, Baba Iddrisu has suffered an injury in Spain while in action for RCD Mallorca.

The workaholic midfielder started for his club today in a matchday 14 encounter against Atletico Madrid in the Spanish La Liga.

Unfortunately, he could not finish the first half of the contest. In injury time, he limped off and had to be substituted during the break.

While the extent of the injury is yet to be ascertained, the news of the injury is a major blow for Ghana ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The Spain-based midfielder is one of the main midfielders Coach Otto Addo has decided to include in his final 26-man squad for the mundial in Qatar.

Should he miss the tournament because of the latest injury, Ghana will suffer dearly in midfield especially when he has become the main defensive midfielder for the Black Stars in recent times.

He will undergo an assessment on Thursday to know the extent of the injury.
