2022 World Cup playoffs: "Ghana is a strong team, very competitive and physical - Ademola Lookman

Nigeria forward Ademola Lookman has heaped praise on Ghana ahead of their 2022 FIFA World Cup final play-offs second leg tie.

The Super Eagles were held to a goalless draw in the first leg last Friday at the Baba Yara Sports stadium in Kumasi.

Nigeria must win their match against Ghana in Abuja on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at the Moshood Abiola Stadium for a ticket to Qatar 2022.

"This is a special event, special moments, the expectations are high. For us, it's about winning and giving our best in the match," Lookman told cafonline.com

"Ghana is a strong team, very competitive and physical. We expect that but we'll be ready."

"I hope to create great and memorable memories. Belief is a great thing not just in football, but I am sure when you believe put in hard work which I've been putting in you can achieve."

"I work every day to achieve my goal. I am glad to be a part of African history and glad to be here and I hope to give you [Nigerians] sweet memories."

The winner of the tie will represent the continent at the World football showpiece which is scheduled to take place from November 21 to December 18.

The Super Eagles are seeking to qualify for the global showpiece a 7th time and, since 1994, have missed only one of seven editions. The last of three appearances by Ghana was in 2014.
