Accra Lions prevailed in the highly competitive Ghana Premier League game after narrowly overcoming Aduana Stars at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park on Sunday.

The Ogya Boys were unable to make their home advantage count after succumbing to a 1-0 defeat at their own backyard. The first half of the game ended in a pulsating goalless draw, as both teams were unable to find the back of the net.

Both teams gave their all in search of a win but the visitors triumphed after securing victory on stoppage time.

Shakun Abubakari fired the winner in the 90th minute mark after connecting from Abass Samari Salifu’s beautiful pass in the much-anticipated encounter.

The win ensured Accra Lions are back to winning ways following defeat in their last Ghana Premier League game against Hearts of Oak.

Accra Lions remains undefeated in their last five meetings with Aduana Stars, winning two and drawing three in the process.

Despite the defeat, Aduana Stars are still on the summit of the Ghana Premier League table but are tied on points with Nsoatreman FC, who shared the spoils with Heart of Lions.

On the other hand, Accra Lions have moved to the 12th position with 16 points.
