2023/24 Ghana Premier League Week 30: Heart of Lions stun Dreams FC with crucial 2-1 win
Heart of Lions are out of the relegation zone of the Ghana Premier League standings following a hard-fought 2-1 win over Dreams Football Club.
The two Premier League clubs locked horns on Sunday afternoon in a Week 30 encounter of the season.
In a game played at the Theatre of Dreams in Dawu, Dreams FC went into the contest as favourites to bag all three points.
However, Heart of Lions had a different idea and showed impressive resilience to tell a different narrative.
Although Joseph Esso scored in the 17th minute to give Dreams FC the lead, the visitors came in strong later to secure a 2-1 win at full time.
Heart of Lions' crucial win was possible thanks to goals from Ebenezer Abban and Mustapha Yakubu.
The win has taken Heart of Lions to 15th on the Ghana Premier League title and out of the relegation zone.
On the other hand, Dreams FC have dropped on the league standings and are now just two points above the red zone.
