In a highly competitive clash on Sunday, relegation threatened Bofoakwa Tano and defending champions Medeama locked horns in matchday 31 of the Ghana Premier League campaign.

Bofoakwa Tano were unable to make their home advantage count after falling short to Medeama at the Sunyani Coronation Park on Sunday afternoon.

The Yellow and Mauves scored in both halves to secure victory to merit the three maximum points in the crucial game.

Putting on a stellar performance, the visitors broke the deadlock in the 39th minute and went to the halftime break with the advantage.

Three minutes to full time, the two-time FA Cup winners added the second goal to seal victory in the much anticipated clash.

The defeat means Bofoakwa Tano are winless in their last six games in the domestic top-flight, leaving them in the relegation drop with three games to end the campaign. They have managed four draws and two defeats across the period.

The Sunyani-based club are 17th on the league log with 33 points after 31 matches into the campaign.

Bofoakwa Tano are gradually losing their Premier League status and must play above themselves to win maximum points in remaining games.

Meanwhile, the win sends Medeama to the third place on the Ghana Premier League with 49 points.
