In a much-anticipated encounter of the Ghana Premier League week eight, Aduana Stars locked horns with Bofoakwa Tano at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park in Dormaa on Wednesday.

The two-time Premier League winners cruised to victory against Bofoakwa Tano to move summit of the standings.

The fire boys made their home advantage count after securing a 4-2 win over the Ghana Premier League returnees.

The first half of the game ended in a pulsating goalless draw, as both teams struggled to find the back of the net in the Brong derby.

In a spirited performance, the Dormaa-based club emerged as winners to hand Bofoakwa Tano their first defeat of the campaign.

Striker Isaac Mintah opened the floodgate for Aduana Stars in the 56th minute mark before Emmanuel Obuobi doubled the advantage for the host in the 61st minute.

Nine minutes later, Isaac Mintah scored his second goal of the match to extend his outfit lead before Emmanuel Obuobi also fired home his second goal to seal win in the 77th minute.

Bofoakwa Tano captain Saaka Dauda scored a brace in the 75th and 87th minute marks to reduce the deficit for the visitors.

The win sends Aduana Stars to the summit of the Ghana Premier League table with 15 points whiles Bofoakwa Tano sit 5th spot with 11 points.
