2023 AFCON Qualifiers: Ghana defender Mohammed Salisu rallies support ahead of Angola clash

Ghana international Mohammed Salisu has urged Ghanaians to troop to the Baba Yara Stadium to cheer the Black Stars to victory over Angola.

The four-time African champions face Palancas Negras on Thursday in a match many expect to be difficult as both sides seek to maintain their unbeaten start to the qualifiers.

Ahead of the clash, the Southampton defender has called on Ghanaians especially those in Kumasi come to the stadium in their numbers to cheer the team up to victory.

"Hello Kumasi, this is Mohammed Salisu from Black Stars. I'm coming home to the Baba Yara Stadium on Thursday, March 23."

"This will be my first time playing before you so come and support us to victory,” he told Ghana FA media.

The Black Stars are unbeaten in Kumasi for the past two decades and are heavy favourites to defeat Angola before travelling to Luanda for the second match.

Ghana leads the qualifying group after a draw and a win in their first two games, but Angola is close behind, and two wins will give the Black Stars a solid chance to qualify.
