Ghana coach, Chris Hughton says he is counting on the fans to show up in Black Stars' game against Angola later today.

The four-time African champions will host the Palancas Negras at the Baba Yara Stadium today in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations [AFCON] qualifiers in a doubleheader.

The fans were at the stadium on Tuesday and Wednesday to offer their support as the playing body trained for the game.

Speaking to the press on Wednesday evening, the 64-year-old said he is counting on the fans to be vocal and vociferous against their opponent.

“It’s a very passionate support, it’s a very vocal support, and any team that wants to do well wants a big crowd behind them. This I’m quite sure will happen. Whatever the numbers are I know they are a very vocal crowd,” he said.

Coach Chris Hughton added, “We know as a team, and as the players, we have the responsibility to return this and the supporters must enjoy what they see. I can never guarantee the results but mostly they will see a team that is giving everything to get the result."

The game has been scheduled to kick off at 16:00GMT. The Black Stars will travel to Luanda for the reverse game on March 27.

Chris Hughton who has signed a 21-month as the new head coach of the senior national team will hope to start his new chapter with a convincing win.

The Black Stars are joint top of Group E alongside Angola with both teams with four points after two games.
