Black Stars defender Abdul Ganiyu has vowed to work extra hard and keep his position in the team after excelling on his Ghana debut.
The towering guardsman who has been impressive for the Porcupine Warriors in the ongoing Ghana Premier League season received his maiden Ghana call-up for the 2021 AFCON qualifiers last month.
He subsequently made his Black Stars debut against South Africa and Sao Tome and Principe and lived up to expectations.
Reacting to his performance, he said, “Those kind of high intensity games are always different and the preparations are always different but all the same with the support of my senior men around and then the encouragement I was able to give my best”
“So far so good, I’m really happy for whatever has happened and am willing to work harder and harder because I have seen what has happened and what is going on so I have to work extra to give me the edge to go more because I know there are people there really looking up to me and I have to go extra miles and just work hard to be there” he said.
The enterprising defender will be hoping to maintain his place in the Black Stars team for the 2021 AFCON tournament slated for January 2022.
