AC Milan manager Vincenzo Montella believes striker Carlos Bacca has to get used to fans booing him.
Goals from Juraj Kucka andGerard Deulofeu were enough for Milan to overturn Fiorentina on Sunday, who Nikola Kalinic replying for the visitors, but Bacca couldn'tget himself on the scoresheet during the 2-1 win. The Colombian was booed by segments of supporters at San Siro, but Montella says Bacca played well.
"Bacca played a superb game," Montella said, as quoted byFour Four Two.
"The fans booed at him? I don't think they were all for him, but he has to get used to similar situations and it has to be an incentive to always give more and more.
"He showed the right attitude and if he keeps it up he will be soon scoring again.
"He did more compared to his previous outings. He won back the ball that then gave us the goal for 2-1, pressed his opponents, made himself useful and played for the team."
Bacca had previously fallen out with Montella after being substituted against Sampdoria earlier this month, but has since made a public apology and intends to buy the Milan squad dinner as a punishment. Winger Deulofeu ended up being the match winner, securing the three points with a curling effort, and the Spaniard felt Bacca was harshly treated.
"The jeers for Bacca were unfair," the 22-year-oldsaid.
"He is working very hard and pressed the defenders a lot."
The win took Milan four points clear of Fiorentina but they remain 10 pointsbehind third placed Napoli, who currently occupy the third Champions League qualifying spot.
