Asante Kotoko have suffered a setback in their preparations for the tough match against Medeama SC in the Ghana Premier League after losing 2-1 to Benab FC in a friendly match.

The Porcupine Warriors have remained unbeaten in the Ghanaian top-flight league since the start of the second round of the campaign under new head coach Mariano Barreto.

Next weekend, the Reds will be up against in-form Medeama SC in a matchday 21 encounter set-up to thrill fans.

As part of preparations for the match, Asante Kotoko today engaged lower-tier side Benab FC to give Coach Barreto the chance to have a look at his players and try a few tactics as well.

At the end of what has been a good exercise for the Reds at their Adako Jachie facility, they have been beaten 2-1 with Martin Antwi grabbing the consolation for the side from the penalty spot.

Training is expected to continue in an intense manner in the coming days before Asante Kotoko takes on Medeama SC next weekend.
