Aduana pip Hearts in GHALCA G6 opener

Striker Nathaniel Asamoah scored a late goal for Aduana Stars to secure a 1-0 victory over Accra Hearts of Oak in the GHALCA G6 tournament held at the Sunyani Coronation Park on Saturday.

Asamoah capitalised on lax play in a much-changed Hearts defense and beat goalie Samuel Akurugu in a foot race to finish at the near post.

The boring game saw Aduana dominate the first half but poor finishing from Asamoah ensured that it was scoreless at halftime.

Newly appointed Aduana coach Yussif Abubakar chose to leave talisman Yahaya Mohammed and Godfred Saka in the stands and was visibly delighted when Asamoah repaid his faith with the goal.

Aduana moved to the top of the three-team table ahead of Hearts and Medeama - who are yet to play in the competition.
