Aduana Stars striker Yahaya Mohammed has suggested his team should be named Ghana Premier League champions if the 2019/20 season is terminated due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Discussions are currently ongoing about how to finish the season with Aduana leading the table with 28 points after 15 matches played before the topflight was halted.

The Ghana Football Association has set June 30 as the date they decide the future of the league.

"I would suggest that the Ghana FA takes the decision to continue the league. However, if the Ghana FA decides to cancel the league, the trophy must be given to Aduana Stars since we are on top of the league log," he told Angel FM.

Yahaya Mohammed is the second top scorer in the 2019/20 Ghana Premier League season.

All football activities have been suspended since mid-March as part of measures to curb the spread of the virus.

The President of Ghana, Nana Akuffo Addo has extended the ban on sporting activities to July 31.

The Football Association proposed weekly testing of all players and also training in smaller groups but did not meet the expectation of the government.
