Egypt coach Hector Cuper says he had the best strategy after his side recorded a 1-0 win over Ghana in their last group game in Port Gentil.

The Pharaohs managed to find the back of the net with a beautiful goal from Roma's Mohammed Salah to finish top of the group.

Cuper credited their win to his proactive game plan.

"I am happy my players executed our strategy against Ghana effectively and got the all important win. It was not an easy game but our tactical application worked well for us from the start."

"It's absolutely fantastic to get your strategy working so many times against a team like Ghana who had a good start to the tournament but once again we were the better side as we were able to lock them down "Cuper told supersport.com.

Egypt who finished top of the group will clash with Morocco in another North African derby in the quarter finals.
