AFCON 2017: Black Stars video analyst Gerard Nus joins camp in Al Ain

Video analyst of the Black Stars Gerard Nus, has joined the team's camping base in Al Ain from his club side Rayo OKC.

 

Nus was appointed head coach of Rayo Oklahoma City in September last year with reports emanating he might end his term with the Black Stars but with a week to the Africa Cup of Nations, Gerard Nus has switched camps to aid Avram Grant at the tournament slated for January 14 in Gabon.

 

The 31-year-old Spanish, has experience working in a number of countries around the world and with several top coaches, including Rafael Benitez during his time at Liverpool of England’s Premier League. He joined the Oklahoma-based club from Rayo Vallecano de Madrid, the club’s majority shareholder.

 

In addition to his time in the northwest of England, Nus has worked under Gus Poyet as head of academy coaches at  Brighton Hove Albion FC (England), in the K-League with Chunnam Dragons (South Korea), in the A-League with Melbourne Heart and Melbourne City (Australia), as an assistant under Avram Grant with Ghana’s national team, and at Elche CF (Spain).

 

Nus is expected to beef up Ghana's technical team ahead of the Black Stars Afcon campaign which begins on January 17th against Uganda.
