Ghana midfield dynamo, Afriyie Acquah has reiterated that the team will qualify for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nation but it won't be easy.
After suffering a 1:0 defeat to Kenya in the second round qualifiers, the Black Stars will host Sierra Leone in a doubleheader in the third round of qualifiers.
Speaking to the media in Kumasi after Ghana’s first training session ahead of Black Star’s encounter against their West African opposition, Acquah thinks any performance less or equal to 100% wouldn’t be enough to snatch victory at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
“If in our last game we gave 100% which we ended up losing to Kenya, in this encounter, we are playing at home and we need to give out more than 100% so that we can win,” he pointed out.
“Everyone is doing well at his club level. If anyone is called upon there wouldn’t be any problem.
“Selection will only be based on hard work and training regiment.
He also urged his players to work hard who will get the opportunity to feature on Thursday in achieving the needed victory.
“We will definitely qualify but it wouldn’t come by mouth. That’s why we need to work hard to achieve that.”
