AFCON qualifiers: Black Stars hold first training session ahead of South Africa game; 13 players show up

The Black Stars of Ghana have held their first training session at the Accra Sports Stadium today as they begin preparations for their Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) against South Africa.

Coach Kwesi Appiah is expecting 23 players to arrive for the upcoming assignment as he targets 6 maximum points at the end of the international break.

A total of 13 players were present for the team’s training today as Coach Appiah and his backroom staff took them through some drills.

Captain Andre Ayew together with his brother Jordan Ayew and all three goalkeepers were present for the training.

Others who trained with the team include Nuhu Adams, Samuel Owusu, Gideon Mensah, Tawrick Jebrin and the three goalkeepers Richard Ofori, Felix Annan and Razak Abalora.

More players will arrive in the country tonight to ensure there is a full house at the disposal of Coach Kwesi Appiah when the team trains tomorrow.

The team will move camp to Cape Coast tomorrow where they will train for the next two days before going into the game against the Bafana Bafana on Thursday, November 14, 2019.
