I am afraid of referees in the Ghana League: Liberty coach George Lamptey

Liberty Professionals coach George Lamptey says referees in the Ghana Premier League have not been fair to his side. The Dansoman-based side lost their first home game in the Ghana League on Sunday to Dreams FC.

It was not just about losing the game but one of their midfielders Emmanuel Antwi was sent off after a second bookable offence.

Liberty who started the second half of the season in the top four have now dropped to 8th position on the table.

This for coach Lamptey is no fault of theirs but the unfair officiating handed his side is the cause of their problems.

“We are always afraid of referees but if you come to the game itself, we play far better than our opponents,” he said

“The way they handle us is very bad because the red card he gave Antwi was not right.”
