African U23 Championship: Ibrahim Tanko hands call ups to 24 players for camping ahead of Algeria clash

Head coach for the Black Meteors of Ghana, Ibrahim Tanko has handed call ups to 24 players for camping ahead of the final qualifying round against Algeria for the African U-23 Championship.

The West African country is hoping to secure qualification to her first Olympic Games competition after 16 years absence but can only do that if they manage to secure qualification into the 2019 U-23 Championship.

Algeria’s national team recently lifted the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament and is hoping their u-23 team can achieve similar faith later this year.

In a bid to ensure Ghana adequately prepares for the upcoming assignment, Coach Ibrahim Tanko has invited 24 players for camping.

The team will start camping on Wednesday, August 7, 2019, and will hold their first training session at the El Wak stadium.

The first match of the two-legged encounter will be played in Ghana before Algiers host the second leg.
