Afriyie Acquah assists as Yeni Malatyaspor defeat Besiktas

Black Stars midfielder Afriyie Acquah came off the bench to provide assist for the first goal as Yeni Malatyaspor defeated Besiktas 2-0 in the Turkish Super Lig.

Acquah came on in the 81st minute for Mitchell Donald in the second half and created the chance four minutes into his game for the teammate Tievy Bifouma to put Malatyaspor ahead.

It was an intense game in the second half as Besiktas, who are in second position with three points behind Sivasspor in the league, dominated the Malatyaspor with 65% of possession.

Malatyaspor proved too tough for the home side to crack , as they managed to put the game to bed in the 90+9 minute through a penalty which was converted by striker Adis Johavic.

This is Malatyaspor's first league win after recording four successive draws and a defeat against league leaders Sivasspor in their last five fixtures. Their home lost to Sivasspor had many question mental fortitude and unity in the team.

Victory today means Yeni Malatyaspor are 7th on the league table after 15 matches.
