Agent of Christian Atsu provides new info of when the earthquake hit the player’s apartment

Nana Owusu Sechere, the agent of Christian Atsu has disclosed that the earthquake hit the apartment of the player 20 minutes after he had arrived home from a friend’s place.

“The last I heard from him was at midnight on Sunday. Christian and his teammates were playing poker until 3:30am at a friend’s apartment. The journey back to his apartment was around half an hour. He returned at 4am and the earthquake started around 20 minutes later.

I didn’t know anything until I received a call from a club official at 5am asking if I’d heard from Christian. He told me Christian’s building had been completely destroyed and that they couldn’t get hold of him," the agent said according to British media outlet The Mirror.

Christian Atsu’s whereabouts are unknown since Monday when the devastating earthquake hit Turkey.

It is understood that search and rescue operations continue for the Black Stars winger.
