The manager of Ajax, John Heitinga was impressed with the performance of Ghana star Mohammed Kudus on Tuesday afternoon when he helped the team to beat FC Groningen 3-2 in the Dutch Eredivisie.

The fit-again Black Stars poster boy started for Ajax today in the Round 32 encounter of the league season in Holland and lasted the entire duration of the match.

In the second half, Mohammed Kudus assisted Brian Brobbey to score as Ajax cruised to a narrow 3-2 win at full-time.

Speaking in his post-match interview, coach John Heitinga commended his players, insisting that the team did what it needed to do to secure all three points.

"The opening was good. We scored and then we had to push through. We came through a few times through the left, but then the line-up was not good."

"They scored in the transition. Our remaining defense must then be better. These are moments that have to get out.

"Unfortunately, we left many opportunities unused. We often made it to the back line, but the return was too low. But we did what we had to do to win,” the Ajax manager said.
