Al Qadsiya pushing to extend contract of Rashid Sumaila

Published on: 27 May 2020

Kuwaiti top-flight side Al Qadsiya is doing all they can to extend the contract of Ghanaian international Rashid Sumaila.

The Black Stars asset has been exceptional for the club since the 2019/2020 season commenced. Prior to the suspension of the campaign as a result of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) crisis, he had established himself as one of the team’s best players.

Unfortunately for Al Qadsiya, the contract of their dependable defender is about to end. Knowing the quality of the player, officials of the club are fighting to renew his contract.

They have already opened talks with the handlers of the center back but it unfortunately stalled due to the Covid-19.

Al Qadsiya is sweating to have the player sign a new contract but are determined to keep him at the club. Negotiations should continue in the coming weeks and it is very likely an agreement will be reached.

Rashid Sumaila, 25, was one of several foreign players expected to be evacuated to their home country but remains in Kuwait because the Ghana government has grounded all flights.
