Ghanaian midfielder, Kevin-Prince Boateng, has stated that Germans were against him in 2010, after a huge incident with Michael Ballack.
The former Portsmouth man fouled then German national team captain, subsequently ruling him out of the competition.
In an interview with Bild, Boateng revealed how tough things were for him at the time.
“Nobody ever asked me how I was doing. That was hard. I grew up in Germany and then a whole nation was against you. I got hate messages, racist messages. They scratched and pelted my car with eggs. I thought about quitting because I was tired from this hurricane. I landed at the airport in Berlin. The police took my passport and threw it on the floor when they saw that it was me, " he stated.
Boateng now plays for his boyhood club Hertha Berlin.
