All is not lost for Karela United, says coach Evans Adotey

Evans Augustine Adotey, the newly-appointed coach of Ghana Premiership side, Karela United, says watching video clips of the club has given him a fair idea of what to do to gain grounds in the Premier League.

Adotey is yet to discharge his duties for the club in any game after being signed on in April, having taken over from Enos Adipah who parted ways with the club in March for poor performance.

The club has struggled to make an impact this season as it lies 17th on the league table.

In an interview with Graphic Sports, Coach Adotey noted that Karela had a good team, hence he was waiting for an opportunity to reassemble the core of the team when the green light was given for football to resume so he could do his final assessment.

“I have been tasked by the management of the team to salvage the club from the path of relegation as they have not performed well in the current season after playing in the final of the Normalisation Special Competition last year,” he revealed.

The former Medeama and Black Maidens coach said while he awaited the decision of the GFA on the League, he had drawn short-term and long-term programmes for the club, should the league continue or not.

According to him, his short-term programme was to keep the players busy with training guidelines to follow while at home, followed by an assessment and correction when the league returned.

He stated that he was ready for whatever decision that might come from the Executive Council of the GFA.

He said the conditions at Karela United would help him to fulfill his mandate as he called for support from the people involved with the running of the club to help him succeed.

The club has been beefed up with the signing of eight new players to help improve upon its performance.
