Amankwa Mireku appeals to Alhaji Akanbi to step down as Board Member

Former Accra Hearts of Oak Captain Amankwa Mireku is appealing to Board Member Alhaji Akanbi to step down, following the constant calls by fans for his removal from the club's top hierarchy.

According to Amankwa Mireku, every fan is pointing fingers at Akanbi for the club's poor state in recent years, hence the recent for him to step down.

"You (Alhaji Akanbi) don't have to force yourself to be there," he told Zylofon FM. "The fans are saying he is not helping, so why is he still there if not for the hate of the club."

"Things are going on well, and every one is pointing fingrs at him (Alhaji Akanbi), so he should just leave,"

"So if he loves Hearts, at least he should step down for someone to come in and lets see the changes,"

"So if supporters are calling for his head and he thinks it's not fair, he should just listen to them, they are the voice of the club,"

"So why doesn't he step aside, so we see whether it's true or not."

The Ghanaian giants have been in shambles in recent years, with the club unable to win the Ghana Premier League since winning it in 2009.
