I am more ambitious than Andre - Jordan Ayew

Swansea City new purchase Jordan Ayew says he is more ambitious than his brother and West Ham forward Andre Ayew.

Jordan left Aston Villa in January to secure a move to Andre’s former team Swansea City and admitted to the Daily Mail that he spoke to Andre about the move.

He then went on to suggest that he is more ambitious than his older sibling:

“I spoke to my brother about coming to Swansea because he is like my lawyer. Our parents did so well to educate us in the best possible way and to keep us united.

“Our background is so strong that no one can break us. There is no rivalry between us, but maybe I am more ambitious than him!”

It is quite a claim from the 25-year-old. Both players, who are sons to legendary Marseille and Ghana forward Abedi Pele, have ambition to cement themselves as stars in the Premier League.

Andre has certainly started on that path, although his injury ravaged first season at West Ham is not helping his cause.

Jordan on the other hand has had a more difficult time in English football.

He was one of Aston Villa’s better players last season, as they finished rock-bottom of the Premier League. He then struggled to win over Steve Bruce after he arrived at Villa Park this season and has headed to Swansea – with the hope of helping them to Premier League survival.

He will no doubt hope to have a similar impact at Swansea to the one his brother did.
