Asante Kotoko have been given the nod to represent Ghana in the 2020/21 CAF Champions League by the Executive Council of Ghana Football Association following the cancellation of the Premier League due to the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic.

According to Amos, who is a former captain of the club but currently plays for AS Kaloum Stars welcomed the decision by the board and management of the club.

"The decision to play in Champions League is a bold one because the players have not been active since March," he told Opemsuo FM.

"Nonetheless, the current situation can be juxtaposed to what happened to us during the time of C.K. Akonnor. Regardless of the challenges, we braved the odds to reach the group stage of the competition a feat it took Kotoko a decade to achieve.”

He reckoned that the Management will need the indefatigable relentless support from the Kotoko supporters who are the gaining steam for the success of the team.

“The Management should work to win the support of the supporters because they shoulder the team in hard times and once they are able to secure that the club will be good to go far in the competition.”

He spent eight (8) seasons with the Ghanaian giants before leaving to seek greener pastures.
