Ancelotti: It is hard for me to pick my starting XI with so many talented players

Napoli cruised to a 3-1 victory over Torino at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday afternoon and Carlo Ancelotti was understandably pleased with his team’s efforts, particularly in the opening exchanges as they raced into an early lead.

It was 2-0 with just 20 minutes on the clock and Simone Verdi’s goal in particular caught the eye for the move that preceded it and the former AC Milan boss was pleased by the involvement of so many of his players in the move.

“It was a very positive start,” he said after the game.

“We played a lot of through balls and found a lot of space behind and everybody was getting involved.”

Ancelotti also praised the depth he has at his disposal, with interest being shown in Sebastiano Luperto, who started at left back for the Partenopei.

“Sebastiano had a good game, as did Marko Rog,” he added. “It’s difficult for me to pick an XI when they are all so talented.

“It doesn’t change the overall quality when I switch things around.”
