Ghana skipper Andre Dede Ayew has expressed his delight after scoring for Swansea City in their 3-1 win over Birmingham City in the English Championship on Wednesday.

Ayew bagged his 16th goal of the season as Steve Cooper's team climbed to within one point and one place of Cardiff City, who currently occupy the final play-off place, with four regular-season games to play.

Birmingham opened the scoring in the 5th minute of the game through Lukas Jutkiewicz.

Swansea equalised seven minutes later through on-loan Liverpool striker Rhian Brewster before academy product Ben Cabango claimed a first senior goal with a deflected effort to make 2-1 ahead of the break.

After the recess, Jay Fulton's sublime strike from a Matt Grimes corner stretched their lead in the 52nd minute of the game.

Having beaten Sheffield Wednesday last time out, Swansea held on to claim back-to-back wins for the first time since December.

Ayew has made 41 appearances for Swansea City in all competitions, scored 16 goals and provided six assists so far.
