Andre Ayew on target as Swansea City defeat Huddersfield Town 3-1

Published on: 22 February 2020

Ghanaian international Andre Dede Ayew was in excellent form today as he scored to power Swansea City to a 3-1 win against Huddersfield Town in the English Championship.

Prior to today's encounter, the Swans had been a poor run of five matches without recording a win. In need of a win to get back on track as far as top-four aspiration is concerned, the side put up the needed fight to ensure they see off the challenge of their Match Week 27 opponent.

Ander Ayew broke the deadlock of the match after just 28 minutes to give the side hope. A good overall performance from Swansea could have seen them score again but they proved to be inefficient in front of goal.

In the second half, Huddersfield town came in strong and finally pulled level on the 78th minute as Steve Mounie scored with a good strike. Two minutes later, Swansea scored at the other end courtesy a strike from Jay Fulton to restore the team's lead.

Another equalizer from the home team on the 90th minute wrapped up a good day at the Liberty Stadium as Ayew and his teammates cruised to an important win.

The Ghanaian now has a total of 11 goals and 5 assist in the Championship and continues to impress for the side every Matchday.
