Andre Ayew ready to lead Ghana in crucial Egypt qualifier

Ghana stand in captain Andre Ayew has stated his readiness to lead Ghana in today's crucial game against Egypt in Alexandria.

Andre is back in the team after recovering from a thigh injury which kept him out of the Uganda game last month.

The West Ham Star admits he is not yet 100 per cent fit, but insists he will give his all for Ghana today.

“I am not 100 per cent but I will try to give my best for my country and hopefully get a win and, at the same time, get more game-time.”

The 26-year-old has made a few appearances since his return near the end of last month and will be hoping to play a key role for the Black Stars in their trip to North Africa.

He missed Ghana’s first group stage qualifier last month, a goalless draw at home to Uganda which has set them back in their hope of qualifying for Russia 2018.

“Yes, it’s a very, very important game for us. We drew our first game at home and now we are going to Egypt, which is a very difficult one for us, so we need to prepare well,” Ayew told West Ham’s official website, WHUFC.com.
