Andre Ayew starts for West Ham against Stoke since opening day injury
during the Premier League match between Chelsea and West Ham United at Stamford Bridge on August 15, 2016 in London, England.

The deputy captain of the Black Stars Andre Ayew has made his first start since the opening match of the season as West Ham host Stoke City in the Premier League.

The Ghanaian international has been out since injuring his thigh in the opening match of the season at Chelsea.

He has made two substitute appearances for the Hammers in the EFL Cup against Chelsea and on Sunday at Everton, as he worked his way back.

Ayew, who comes in for Edmilison Fernandes, is one of two changes to the team that lost 2-0 at Goodison Park, with Winston Reid replaced by James Collins the other.

Ayew's return to the Hammers starting line-up will serve as a boost to the Black Stars who face Egypt in a must-win World Cup qualifier in Alexandria.

West Ham: Adrian, Cresswell, Kouyate, Lanzini, Obiang, Noble, Collins, Ayew, Ogbonna, Payet, Antonio. Subs: Randolph, Nordtveit, Feghouli, Zaza, Fletcher, Calleri, Fernandes.
