Andre Ayew tipped to be first West Ham striker to score this season

Andre Ayew made his first London Stadium start last Saturday hoping to prove the majority of West Ham fans right by becoming the first of the club's misfiring strikers to score a league goal this season.

However, he was unable to and he was subbed with the game scoreless after the 60th minute mark.

He was a clear winner of a poll which asked who would be the first Irons striker to score for the club this season ahead of Andy Carroll and Diafra Sakho.

The £20 million club record signing is one of four strikers at the club including Simone Zaza, Andy Carroll and Difra Sakho.

Over 20 per cent of those polled believed Ayew would be the first striker to get on the score sheet this season which of course excluded makeshift front man Michail Antonio.
