AshantiGold Chief Executive Kudjoe Fianoo has decided to resign from his positions at the Ghana Football Association days after losing the Executive Committee election.

Fianoo has stepped down as the Black Stars management committee member and chairman of the association’s Media Committee.

GHANASoccernet.com understands he is still furious after suffering defeat in Tuesday’s poll by Premier League clubs to select representatives onto the highest decision making body of the FA.

Fianoo believes he was unfairly rejected by the delegates and paid the penalty for failing to play a match of convenience against WAFA at the back end of the season.

Reports say, AshGold were told to draw with the academy side to help them secure their status in as a top-flight club in their penultimate fixture but the Miners pushed for a win to seal their title with one match to spare.

Fianoo polled five votes and could not pick one of the six slots for Premier League Clubs.

He told Graphic Sports in an interview: “At an appropriate time, I will go public about the reasons that pushed me to take this decision but something I have thought through very well.

“But I have always thought about a day like this and events before the Premier League ended must have eventually pushed me to this decision.”
