Annor Walker doesn't deserve criticism he's receiving for CHAN performance - Karim Zito

Black Starlets boss, Abdul Karim Zito, says Annor Walker does not deserve the criticism he's receiving for Ghana's performance at the 2022 Championship of African Nations (CHAN).

Ghana was kicked out of the 2022 CHAN after losing 2-0 to Niger in the quarterfinal, winning only one game in the tournament.

They also lost 2-1 to debuting Madagascar in the first group game before beating Sudan to make it to the quarterfinal.

Zito still believes Walker is not responsible for the mess and shouldn't be chastised.

"It’s not easy for those of us with the national teams. We also have families who listen to the radio; my children are listening and their father is being chastised by somebody who could be my son," he told Asempa FM.

"We are not saying don’t talk but it’s not you fingering somebody and trying to damage his reputation.

"Look at what they are saying to Annor Walker. Walker qualified us to the tournament by beating Nigeria, Benin but at the end of the day they are saying that he is the most use coach. Why? It’ll not help us. Your insults will never help us.

"I’ll say it today, I’ll say it tomorrow. If I leave football, you can’t insult me. Insults will never help us; we should go accordingly with critical analysis.

"If we didn’t qualify, I’m still satisfied with the way they played. There are a lot of factors affecting us now.

"If you look at it, the first three games, we got two points. That was not the kind of response we anticipated or needed."
