Antoine Griezmann Names 2 Premier League Players as the World's Best Goalkeepers

Published on: 20 December 2016

Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann has surprisingly named two Premier League goalkeepers when asked by France Football who he considers to bethe best keeper in the world.

The Frenchman, whofinished third in the 2016 Ballon d'Or, is recognised as one of the world's top players although he has had a particularly testing year having narrowly missed out on winning both the Champions League with his clubside, and the European Championships with France.

Antoine Griezmann says he's happy in Madrid, but Manchester United would suit him eventually.

When quizzed on who he felt was the best goalkeeper currently in football, Griezmann looked to two players in the Premier League and whilst he chose Tottenham's Hugo Lloris, which was fairly obvious, the second name will have raised a few eyebrows amongst some viewers from England.

The 25-year-old told France Football (as quoted bySportwitness):"It's not because he's [Lloris] my teammate, but because he's so quick on his feet. I've never seen anything like it.

"During the Euro semis against Germany, he does an amazing save when he can't see a thing. Suddenly you see move to the right and save the ball with one hand.

"At the end of the game, he saved another one as quickly. He's a super goalkeeper. If I'd been a goalkeeper, I would have liked to have his speed.

"Then, I'd like to have the ball-playing ability of Claudio Bravo, with whom I played at Real Sociedad. For me, he's the best in that department. A mix of the two would be magnificent."

Claudio Bravo dealt with ten shots on target in #mcfc's last two PL matches. He let in seven goals. "What is saves?" as Pep might say.

Bravo signed for Manchester City last summer after new manager Pep Guardiola insisted that the Chilean was better suited to his style of play, as opposed toregular goalkeeper, Joe Hart.

After an indifferent start to life in the Premier League, rumours have already suggested that Guardiola is seeking a replacement for Bravo, but Griezmann is clearly backing the former Barcelona keeper to come good and rates him up there with some of the world's best.
