Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is reportedly looking to offload current outcast Cesc Fabregas during the January transfer window.

But according to theDaily Mail, the 29-year-old Spain international is keen to remain at Stamford Bridge to fight for his place in Conte's starting eleven.

The former Barcelona playmaker has not played in a Premier League match since the Blues' 3-0 thrashing at Arsenal two months ago due to a thigh injury, with Chelsea going on a five-match winning streak since.

It is understood Conte will make Fabregas available for loan in January, as he looks for a new playmaker. Reports suggest the Italian has aninterest in Paris Saint-Germain's Javier Pastore and Inter Milan ace Marcelo Brozovic to occupy the playmaker role.

The former Juventus manager refused to rule out a January exit for Fabregas during his press conference on Friday, despite the Spaniard making it clear in the last couple of weeks that he wants to remain in west London.

"Now we are at the start of November and it is important to be in the present. For this type of situation it is too early to talk," Conte said on Friday.

"Fabregas is Chelsea's player and I'm very happy to have him in my squad."

The 29-year-old is nearing full fitness after suffering a thigh injury but, along with Kurt Zouma, missed the impressive 5-0 victory over Everton on Saturday that takes the Blues to the top of the Premier League.

Two goals from Eden Hazardbacked up with strikes from Marcos Alonso, Diego Costa and Pedro puts Chelsea one point in front of Manchester City who drew 1-1 with Middlesbrough at Etihad.
