Antonio Conte Pleased With Chelsea and Eden Hazard After 3-0 Win Over Burnley

Published on: 27 August 2016

Antonio Conte has praised his side's performance, Eden Hazard in particular, after Chelsea beat Burnley 3-0 at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

The Blues had not kept a clean sheet at home in the league since last November, against Norwich, and Conte is delighted his team were able to top off a great display without conceding a goal.

That was our first clean sheet at home since November. What a season last year was...

"I'm pleased with the performance and the win," Conte told Chelsea's official club website.

"We played good football with good ball possession. We created a lot of chances.

"The most important thing, after 13 games conceding a goal at home, we didn't concede a goal. That is good news for the players, for me and for the fans.

"It's a pity now there is this international break. After three wins I wanted to continue to play games but we have to stop.

"With my staff we will continue to work in this period of rest, to watch the game, to watch the good things “ many - and watch the bad things - a few - and try to continue to improve.

"We have now played four official games - against West Ham a good game, against Watford so-so, this game we started very well and for the whole game we played good football.

"I'm also pleased because I saw the idea of our football today."

One player who caught the eye on Saturday was Hazard ” who has started the season in much better fashion compared to how he started the last ” and Chelsea's Italian boss wasted no time in talking up the Belgian's performance.

"Eden is a fantastic player, he is working very well with a great attitude. After the first day I saw this - his will to work very well, to find a good shape very soon. I also can say Eden's performance can improve, but I'm pleased with his work-rate and commitment," Conte said.

Chelsea have won maximum points in their first three Premier League fixtures and will take on Swansea City next at the Liberty Stadium after the international break.
