Chelsea defender, Antonio Rudiger has sent a message to his club with regard to talented youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi.

The 18 year old tried unsuccessfully to engineer a move away from Stamford Bridge during the January transfer window.

The Ghanaian international had grown frustrated after failing to secure regular first team action under boss Maurizio Sarri.

Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich had bids of up to £35m rejected by Chelsea for the 18-year-old.

So, for now, Hudson-Odoi remains at the west London club, but his contract will expire next summer.

Rudiger thinks Chelsea need to cut the starlet some slack and let him play his natural game without extra pressure.

“That's what he can become, yes,” he told Kicker when asked if the youngster can be an integral part of Chelsea’s plans.

“But he is 18 years old. And one should let him be 18.

“And do not pretend that he is 27 and already experienced everything.”
