Aristică Cioabă leads the race for Hearts of Oak coaching role

Accra Hearts of Oak have shortlisted three coaches for their vacant coaching role after trimming down the tall list of applicants.

The former African Champions are without a substantive coach following the departure of Kenichi Yatsuhashi and his assistant Yaw Preko who stood in as stop gap coach following the demoting of Sergio Traguil who also came in to replace Kenichi.

According to reports, the management of Hearts have shortlisted the following three tactical brains; Cioaba Artistica,Tom Strand and Mislilov Bighovic.

Sources close to footballghana.com have however revealed that 45-year-old Romanian football manager and a former footballer Cioabă who holds the UEFA A License, the second highest football coaching qualification since 2005 from the Romanian Football Federation is in pole position to land the job.

Aristică Cioabă rejoined Ghana Premier League side Aduana Stars on a one year deal for the just ended season and guided them to a second place finish with his exploits catching the eye of the Phobians.

The Oak family who went through the pre-season G6 tournament without a substantive coach, is expected to name a head coach on Friday.
