Arsenal and Man City transfer links excite Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey

Atletico Madrid star Thomas Partey is excited about the prospect of moving to the Premier League, amid reports of potential interest from Arsenal and Manchester City.

The 25-year-old has emerged as a key component of Diego Simeone’s midfield over the course of the last two seasons, following loan spells at the likes of Mallorca and Almeria.

After crashing out of the Champions League and dropping out of the race for the Spanish league title in recent weeks, however, Atletico are likely to freshen up their squad in the summer.

Saul Niguez has already been linked with a move to City with a deal already in place for Hector Herrera to replace the Spain international.

Metro.co.uk revealed last week that Pep Guardiola is also in the market for an all-action midfielder who could eventually succeed City stalwart Fernandino.

According to ESPN, the Ghana international is considering his future and has already been the subject of Premier League interest with several clubs having been alerted to his €50 million buy-out clause.

‘The Premier League is a good league, it’s very competitive and has some of the best players in the world,’ Thomas said last summer. ‘Hopefully, one day. I would like to play there.’
