Arsenal fans reacts to Thomas Partey’s message over proposed change in jersey number

Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey is expected to change his shirt number at Arsenal for next season.

Partey was handed the number 18 jersey after penning a long-term contract with the Gunners last summer.

The deputy Ghana captain looks set to change his shirt number from 18 to his preferred 5.

When he first joined the Gunners, however, Greek defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos was in possession of the 5, so Partey had to settle for 18. But with the Greek now departed, he is set to wear his favourite jersey number.

However, the deputy Ghanaian skipper post on social seems to be the confirmation of change in jersey number for the 2021/22 season.

He posted on Instagram which has a blank screen with the words ‘is mine from now’ but the ‘TAS’ and ‘TA’ is what is really throwing the fans off.

In spite of that, the Gunners fans have taken to twitter to express their views.
