Arsenal Flop Yaya Sanogo Set to Leave Club in January With Ligue 1 Side Interested

Arsenal striker Yaya Sanogo is set to leave the club on loan in January,according toCalcio Mercato.


Sanogo joined the club back in 2013 having impressed in Ligue 2 for Auxerre, and has so far scored one goal in all competitions for the North London outfit, against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions Leagueduring the 2014-15 season.

He has been loaned out three times during his time at the Emirates, signing temporarilyfor Crystal Palace, Ajax and Charlton Athletic, and looks set to leave the club on a short-term basisagain to get more game time.


Alexis Sanchez has started up front for the Gunners in recent matches, while Olivier Giroud and Lucas Perez are alsohigher up in the pecking order than the Frenchman.


The 23-year-old is yet to feature for Arsenal this season, andappearsset for another loanmove in January, withSaint-Etienne reportedly interested.

Sanogo came to Arsenal's attention during his time at Auxerre, where he scored 10Ligue 2 goals in 13 appearances during the 2012-13 season.


Signing for Arsenal in 2013, Sanogo has frequently been ridiculedwith many Arsenal fans unhappy with the lack of strikers purchased by Arsene Wenger's side in recent years.


Sanogo spent the first half of last season away on loan at Ajax, but only featured in five matches and failed to score. In February, Sanogo signed for Charlton and scored three goals in eight Championship appearances, all coming in a hat-trick against Reading.


Ligue 1 Saint-Etienneare currently ninth after nine games, hoping to recruit strikers in January having only scored 11 goals.
