Arsene Wenger has just been handed a massive boost in signing long-term transfer target Julian Draxler.

The VfL Wolfsburg winger and member of the 2014 German World Cup winning teamhas demanded a transfer from the Bundesliga side, after being left out of the side to play Bayern Munich

As reported inThe Express,Arsene Wenger is looking to strike while the winger is unsettled and could launch a £30M bid to bring the 23-year-old to the Emiratesin the January window.

Draxler has been on Arsene Wenger's wish list since his days at Schalke and despite near-continuous links to North london,a deal was never finalised.

However, if the23-year-old has been told by Wolfsburg he can leave in the January window, the moment may finally be right forWenger to land his man.

The news of a transfer requestcomes as a massive boost for Wenger, who has struggled in recent weeks to get star menMesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez to agree to new contract extensions.

The Arsenal hierarchy may hope that by the signing of the German international, it will work as a motivator for Arsenal's existing stars to agree to longer deals.

With the window opening in just overtwo weeks, Gunners fans will be hoping that the rumours are true and they can add Julian Draxler to an already impressive list ofattacking options.
