According to goal.com, Arsenal are very interested in acquiring Thomas Partey from Atletico Madrid but will have to sell players to make the deal possible.

Currently, the 27-year-old has a 50 million euro release clause on his head and Atletico Madrid reportedly will not accept anything less than the clause to let him go.

In the past, they rejected a player plus cash offer from Arsenal to sign Partey and have stood firm on their demands since.

The Gunners are now making moves to sell some players and get enough money to buy Partey. Hector Bellerin has been linked with a move to PSG. It has been reported that the French club have already made a 30 million pound bid for the player.

Also, Arsenal have let Mkhitaryan go. The Armenian took 180,000 pounds a week meaning Arsenal have some cap space for new arrivals.

It will be interesting to see if Arsenal are able to ship players off for Partey.
