Arsenal Officially Complete Signing of Valencia Defender Shkodran Mustafi

Arsenal have officially confirmed the signing of centre-back ShkodranMustafi, who joins the club on what is believed to be a five-year contract after a big-money move from Valencia.


The Gunners neglected to mention a contract length or a fee in their official statement, but Mustafi himself claimed that the deal was for five years in an interview on the weekend - with the club believed to have paid around £35m to the Spaniards for his services.

In the club's statement, Arsene Wenger said:He is at the right age. He has good experience. He is a very focused player who can play with the ball as well. We have taken a great player but have prepared well for the future.�


Mustafi was the second signing announced by the club on Tuesday, following the arrival of Lucas Perez from Deportivo for £17.1m.Upon signing, the Spaniard said: "I'm delighted. It's a massive step in my career to come to a club with the history and quality that Arsenal have and be able to play in competitions like the Premier League and the Champions League. I'm very proud and happy to be here.�

He added: "Absolutely, I know the club. The Premier League is very popular in Spain and I always try to watch matches whenever I can. Arsenal have top quality players and play some great football so they were one of the teams I watched most."


When asked if he had a message for Gunners fans, he said: "I'd like to say hello to the Arsenal fans and ask them to come out and support us. This is going to be a great season for us all and I'm sure Arsenal will give you plenty to celebrate."
