Arsenal majority shareholder Stan Kroenke has called Arsene Wenger to assure him he won't be selling up.

Gunners shareholder Alisher Usmanov made the shock move to try and wrestle control of the Premier League club earlier this week. But his £1 billion offer was rejected by Kroenke.'

The Telegraph says Wenger has been informed of Kroenke's ambitions.

Usmanov has been keen to take control for years but the current owner sees Arsenal as a long-term investment.

Kroenke's son Josh is on the club board and is a long-serving Premier League fan.

Josh played college football as a youngster and admitted he was happier than anyone when he found out his dad was keen on buying the Gunners.
